Race Car Performance

In this seminar, all the procedures involved in optimizing the performance of our race car during testing will be highlighted. Starting from the preparation on the simulator, we will analyze how virtual testing helps refine vehicle setup and driver feedback before heading to the track. The seminar will then cover the on-track testing phases, including data acquisition, parameter tuning, and performance validation. A key focus will also be on driver training, emphasizing the importance of consistency, adaptability, and understanding vehicle dynamics. Finally, we will explore the fundamental role of communication between drivers and engineers, showing how their collaboration is essential for extracting the maximum potential from both the car and the team

26 March  17:30 - 19:00

Suspension Design Workflow

In this seminar, all the steps present in the design of the suspensions of our vehicle will be highlighted. Starting from tire data, it will be possible to see how a tire model is created: from such model, some tire based ideal charactersistics of the suspensions will be pointed out, and this will then lead to the kinamatics of the suspension. After that, the structural design of the suspensions can be faced, starting from the expected forces generated by the tire.

Control Systems for performance and reliability

The difference between winning a formula student event and finishing just off the podium may depend on the quality of the control systems design, both in terms of maximizing the overall vehicle performance and tracking the critical signals to improve vehicle's reliability. In this seminar a description of the role of the control system designer, including the mains tasks and the working environment will be carried out. Moreover, an exclusive overview on the main current control strategies adopted by the team to increase vehicle's performance and reliability will be presented, with a particular focus on controls for powertrain with SOC estimation.

Cost Evaluation of a Formula SAE Team

How much does it really cost to build a Formula Student race car? Find out in this interactive workshop on the CCBOM (Costed Carbonized Bill of Materials), the key document for the Cost & Manufacturing Event! After a brief introduction on how a CCBOM is structured and its role in the competition, we will analyze the cost of a real component from our car, examining raw materials, manufacturing processes, and the economic impact of design choices.
You'll discover how every detail — from material selection to production method — affects the budget and final score. This is a unique opportunity to dive into the cost management side of Formula Student and get an inside look at a crucial part of the competition. No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a problem-solving mindset!
